Summary

The spring season is the MRC Juniors primary racing season.  The first weeks of the spring season are conducted indoors, as the water has yet to thaw. Once the ice breaks, and the docks are installed, practices are held on the water.  Practices are Monday through Friday, 4:15 pm to 6:00 pm, before the dock is installed.  The schedule switches to 4:15 to 6:30 pm once we are back on the water.

The MRC competes against different schools and clubs from around the Midwest with racing beginning in April and continuing through May. Races are 2,000 meters (~1¼ miles) in length.

The dock is currently scheduled to be installed March 17. If the river is still frozen, we will push that date back weekly until the ice has thawed. Practices will continue as normal regardless.

Spring Season:

  • our longest season of the year!

  • the most competitive season for rowing - the national champion is crowned in the spring!

  • high-intensity training with multiple racing opportunities throughout the season

  • of paramount importance for athletes planning to row in college
